Why bed bugs must be given priority to remove from residential areas

17 Easy Tips To Prevent Bed Bugs | Catseye Pest Control

“Good night, sleep tight, and don’t let the bedbugs bite” as a kid you might have surely heard your parents call into your bedroom with this rhyme. Though it is a traced theory it’s one of the grossest realities.  It is aptly named bed bugs because they usually infest your mattresses and bedding mostly in semi-dark and warm places. But, how do we identify a bed bug?

Bed bugs are sneaky and small, tricky to find creatures which make it difficult to spot an infestation before it becomes a major problem. To identify a bed bug, make sure the creature is one-fourth of an inch or looks like an apple seed. The shape of bed bugs is flat, oval, and long and is of reddish-brown color. Apart from these features, six legs and two antennae also describe these crawling creatures. These characteristics can be used to describe mature or big bed bugs whereas baby bed bugs or eggs are mostly translucent and smaller in size with milky-white body color.

Not just mattresses or beds, these crawling creatures are capable of infesting cushion-based furniture like sofas, chairs, and couches. Sometimes these bed bugs are found on curtains, drawers, wallpapers, electronic appliances, and outlets, or even floor cracks or ceilings. Beg bugs bite both pets and humans and live for about six to twelve months. It is always better to take preventive measures prior to bugs infestation.

People often misunderstand the fact that bed bugs don’t just infest dirty and messy homes but can be found even in the cleanest of homes. The major reason for bed bug infestation can be through previously infested people or furniture. You might have observed people complaining about bed bugs in their hotel rooms, that is because these bed bugs can attach themselves to luggage and clothes which can travel back with you and infest your home. There’s absolutely no limit to how these itchy crawling creatures enter your home.

Well, it’s important to remove these bed bugs from your residential areas as soon as possible because these can cause major damages to your furniture, and do not forget to pest control your home if you have a pet living in your apartment. Preventive measures can include thoroughly inspecting second-handed objects like furniture before purchasing, keep inspecting your bedding regularly for signs of bed bugs, and do not forget to check the mattresses and beds for bed bugs in the hotel room when traveling.

Pest Control Safety Precautions should be followed to ensure the safety. A few scents and essential oils can also be used to repel bed bugs but do not necessarily beat them to death. These essential oils and scents include lavender, peppermint, tea tree oil, lemongrass, and thyme. Use ten drops of any of these essential oils after diluting it with water in a spray bottle. However, calling an exterminator with professional equipment like chemicals and heat could be a better idea when the infestation is out of control in order to schedule a cleaning session of your house.
